Singapore Airlines : SQ : SIA
SIA, qui exploite 76 B 777-200ER, -300 et -300ER va modifier leurs cabines
Singapore Airlines (SIA) said on Thursday that it has launched an aircraft cabin retrofit program for its Boeing 777 planes.
According to a statement by SIA, the retrofit program will see new interior products introduced on some of
its Boeing 777s from later this month.
This will include the installation of new seats in first and business classes, improvements in economy class and in-flight entertainment system enhancements.
"The program will provide customers additional comfort and more space, while there will also be greater product consistency across the fleet," the statement said.
SIA will start with an initial batch of seven B777-300s and will extend the renewal to more planes at a later date

SIA, du mieux pour septembre, une année pas facile, 2010 serait la bonne ?
D'Airwise :
Singapore Airlines said on Tuesday that its yields improved in the quarter ended September, but would remain negative to the end of the year as the sector struggles in the economic downturn.
"The trends are moving in the right direction. We hope it will hold, but it's hard to tell," Chew Choon Seng, chief executive of the world's biggest airline by market value, told reporters on the sidelines of an aviation conference in Hong Kong.
The airline saw no need to further reduce its capacity as its load factor improved, he said.
"Our load factors have been very strong," said Chew.
The load factor of Singapore Airlines, 55 percent owned by state investor Temasek, rose to 80 percent in September, he said. This surpassed 68.2 percent recorded in August and 69.7 percent in July.
In the longer term, recovery would depend on macroeconomic conditions, said Chew.
"Unemployment in the United States is still 10 percent, which is very high," he said.
On Monday, Cathay Pacific chief executive Tony Tyler said the airline last week posted its best weekly passenger load factor for 2009, but remained uncertain whether the improvement represented a structural improvement or merely reflected seasonal factors.

Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation sector, and Singapore Airlines are pleased to announce the successful launch today of the carrier’s new Airbus A380 service to and from Zurich Airport.
All the new processes and procedures established at Zurich to handle the world’s biggest passenger jet functioned flawlessly, to the delight of the passengers on the first inbound and outbound flights and all the airport partners involved.
With today’s start of the new 2010 summer schedules, Singapore Airlines now operates a daily Airbus A380 flight between Singapore and Zurich. The new Zurich service is the carrier’s third to Europe with the A380, joining London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
The new service is the first time that Swissport Zurich has been asked to handle an Airbus A380, though the Swissport Group has been accumulating experience with the giant new jet elsewhere in its network, and with other airline partners, for three years now. While no major surprises were expected at Zurich today in handling terms, the first arrival of a new service is always an event, and one that tends to generate particular pride and satisfaction among the partners concerned.
Adrian Melliger, Senior Vice President and Head of Swissport Switzerland & Germany, agrees. “There was an exceptionally high level of anticipation during our preparations for this new service,” he confirms, “and taking part ‘live’ in the handling process was a tremendous experience for everyone involved. We’re pleased and proud that Zurich is one of only three airports in Europe which can currently handle the A380, and we thank Singapore Airlines for the
confidence they have placed in our skills and expertise.”
