Strategic Projects:

The financial and market share results were the product of the efforts made by more than 17 thousand employees assigned to the group, who were mainly focused on:

Fleet renewal

In 2011, the Company continued with its technology modernization process.

The simplification of the number of airline families was the principal goal and these have been reduced from nine aircraft types in 2010 to six types in 2011.

As a result of this process, a significant reduction in the costs of maintenance and operation has been achieved.

As of December 2011, the airlines Avianca, TACA and subsidiaries have a fleet of 148 aircraft including Fokker 50, Cessna, ATR42, Embraer, Boeing and Airbus.

As a result of the renewal process, the Fokker F100, Boeing B-737 and B757 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-83
exited the fleet.

By end of 2011, the following aircraft that make up AviancaTaca Holding S.A. fleet:

7 Airbus A330-200

88 Airbus A320-200 (includes the Airbus A321 A320, A319 and A318 families)

5 Boeing B767-300

12 Embraer 190

10 Turbo Prop Fokker 50

15 Cessna

11 ATR 42

In addition, with the view to continue the renewal and expansion process, AviancaTaca ordered the purchase of 51 aircraft from the A320 family, 33 of them eco-efficient A320neo.

With these aircraft the organization plans on expanding its services into new markets and to consolidate its global operation with one of the youngest fleets in the region.

Destinations, Route network and alliances

During 2011 the joint network was strengthened through direct point to point operations and through links between the hubs themselves.

More than 4,500 flights per week were flown to over 100 destinations in 25 countries.

These links throughout the five continents was reinforced by the provision of routes to more than 750 destinations through trade agreements (codeshare and interline) with other internationally renowned airlines.

In the tables below we list the destinations that benefited from the increase of flight frequencies and/or new routes with group airline services.

Hubs

In 2011 the integration and interconnectivity of the four group hubs was greatly advanced in: Bogota, Colombia; San Salvador, El Salvador; San Jose, Cost Rica and Peru, Lima.

The improvements in the schedules and the connection times resulted in a better occupancy rate and optimization of the travel experience for passengers on routes that include a wide range of flights in the Americas and Europe.

Bogota, Colombia. The Bogota hub totaled an average of 1,244 flights per week to 22 cities in Colombia and 23 in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.

San Salvador, El Salvador. An average of 271 frequencies per week, to and from 25 destinations in North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean operated through the hub in San Salvador.

San Jose, Costa Rica. Thanks to 157 flight frequencies per week, this Hub makes connections easier in the North-Central and South America axis, as well as the axis between the Americas and the Caribbean.

Lima, Peru. The hub is located in the capital of Peru and operates 246 weekly frequencies to 14 points in South America, five in Central America and the Caribbean, one in North America and six domestic destinations.
