German carrier Germania is intending to start introducing [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] A319s into its fleet, as part of a broad replacement programme.

Berlin-based Germania's holding company, SAT, has signed a tentative agreement to take five A319s.
The airline operates around 15 [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] 737s, some of which are wet-leased to other carriers.
Airbus says that Germania plans a "complete fleet rollover" to the [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien].
Initial deliveries are scheduled for April 2011, if the agreement is firmed. The five A319s covered by the memorandum of understanding will be powered by CFM International [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] engines.

Berlin-based Germania's holding company has firmed its order for five Airbus A319 aircraft, having disclosed a tentative agreement earlier this year.

The holding company, SAT, had previously reached a memorandum of understanding for the type.

As a result Germania, which is rolling over its fleet of Boeing 737s, will become a new Airbus operator.

"Germania and its customers will profit from [the A319's] proven efficiency and its enormous flexibility for charter and
schedules routes," says Germania chief Axel Trampnau.

Deliveries of the CFM International CFM56-powered aircraft, configured with 150 seats, will start in 2011.
