Oui ! Et Gulfstream est ravi -- "over the moon" -- avec la motorisation de Rolls-Royce : RR BR-725 !

Possible! It would be wise (to exclude P&W)! But, why change the engine supplier, anyway ? Everyone, including Bombardier, know that the power-plant has been the strong point since the beginning of this "family" of aircraft !
And the nacelle ? And the power-plant integration ? Who can see an engine, coming from the GTF concept, even without a reducing gear, as a solution to facilitate rear-of-fuselage power-plant integration, in terms of time, technical aspects / engineering, finance, project management .... ?
One must think of the constraints of limited resources ! All resources !
This should not be a problem, as things have already worked well , ... but RR will have ro extend and manage watertight confidentiality between Bombardier & Gulfstream! And, this time, the stakes will be higher & more exacerbated than before !

Bombardier kicked off NBAA 2010 with by preempting its own Monday announcement by unveiling its new Global 7000 and 8000 large-cabin business jets. There has been significant [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] buzz around the new jets, which were first believe to have prompted the Canadian airframer to reveal the details around its largest business aircraft two days ahead of its planned October 18 press conference in Atlanta.
Bombardier says its October 16 release was not moved up due to any outside speculation, rather it was "always the plan to issue the news and start an interaction with journalists."
The family of aircraft, the Global 7000 and 8000, grows the company's existing Global Express XRS and Global 5000 products with a new high-speed transonic wing. The Global 7000, which is the larger of the two aircraft features a high-speed mach .90 cruise or a 7,300nm range at mach .85. The aircraft, Bombardier claims, features a 20% larger cabin than the "current market leader", which Bombardier says is its Global Express XRS. The Global 7000 will be the first of new pair to enter service in 2016.
The Global 8000, a designation that appears to correspond to its 7,900nm range at mach .85 and features a similar high-speed cruise. The cabin of the 8000 is around 19% larger than the Global 5000, which will remain as a product offering along with the Global Express XRS. The aircraft is set for entry into service in 2017.
The aircraft also sport windows that have 80% more surface area than the current Global family. Bombardier says the General Electric TechX engine with 16,500 lbs of thrust and is the first aircraft to be powered by GE's new family of engines.

Merci, Jeannot.
Bombardier a besoin d'argent.

Bombardier today celebrated a significant program milestone with the entry into service of its 100th Global 5000 business jet. Heritage Aviation, a Vermont corporation, took delivery of the jet during a ceremony at Bombardier Aerospace’s Global Completion Centre in Dorval, Québec. Customer representatives, company leaders and almost 1,000 employees from the Global aircraft program, as well as many suppliers, were on hand to mark the occasion.
“Our new Global 5000 jet offers the perfect combination of comfort, speed and range to satisfy the requirements of our expanding business,” said Christopher Hill, President, Heritage Aviation. “We are very pleased with our decision to purchase this extraordinary business jet and to participate in this celebration with Bombardier.”

Located at the Burlington International Airport, Heritage Aviation is a diversified aviation services company that provides FBO, charter, aircraft management and award-winning maintenance. In addition, the facility is one of the first LEED-certified hangars in the United States, with added features that utilize solar and wind energy, rain water collection and reuse, and also includes one of the largest green roofs in New England. The new Global 5000 jet joins a Challenger 604 jet, along with eight other aircraft in the fleet. Heritage is also certified for airframe maintenance on Challenger 604, Global Express XRS and Global 5000 jets.
The Global aircraft platform gained instant worldwide recognition for design and performance when it was first introduced in 1996 with the Global Express aircraft, and Global aircraft have since become renowned as the industry’s most advanced jets.
“We are proud that Heritage, an aviation company that highly values the environment, has selected the Global 5000 jet for their fleet,” said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “Global aircraft are renowned as the industry’s most advanced jets, offering a winning combination of performance, range and a highly productive working environment in the industry’s most voluminous cabins – they are the aircraft of choice for leading corporations. We are delighted to celebrate this program event with Heritage Aviation.”
Global 5000 jet: The super large Global 5000 jet combines superior transatlantic speed with the largest cabin in its market segment. It features high-speed Internet connectivity, unmatched entertainment options, a heads-up flight display system, and one of the largest field-of-view of any business aircraft. With a range of 5,200 NM (9,630 km), the jet can connect city pairs such as London-Los Angeles, Sao Paulo-Paris, Hong Kong-Wellington, New York-Honolulu and Dubai-Perth at Mach 0.85 (561 mph; 904 km/h) non-stop with eight passengers and three crew*.
