Transaero Airlines successfully concluded its annual shareholder meeting, approving annual report with operational and financial results for 2008 in it.

Transaero passenger turnover in 2008 grew to more than 17.5 billion RPK, 49% more than in 2007. The airline carried more than 4.85 million passengers which is a 50% increase over 2007.

Transaero Airlines further strengthened its position as the second largest airline in terms of passenger turnover and the third largest in terms of passenger number in Russia. Transaero has also become Russia’s second international and leading tourist airline, and its share in the Russian aviation market in terms of passenger turnover grew from 10.7% in 2007 to 14.3% in 2008.

Revenues increased by 82.4% to 37.4 billion rubles. Sales profit constituted 1.83 billion rubles, 5.7 times more than in 2007. Transaero’s pre-tax earnings reached 225.58 million rubles, which is 70% more than in 2007. Net profit constituted 109.4 million rubles, a 7% increase over 2007.

Those results were achieved despite the sharp increase in fuel prices in the first half of 2008 and the financial crisis that characterized the second half of the year.

Transaero Airlines continues stable development of its business in 2009. The airline is following through with its ambitions domestic route network expansion plans. All Transaero’s main operational indicators on destinations within Russia have increased by 34% in the first five months of 2009 in comparison with the same period in 2008. Transaero has also become the largest carrier on routes from Moscow to the Russian Far East with passenger turnover to these destinations growing by 83% in January – May 2009 period. The airline continues with its fleet renewal program, adding next generation aircraft (Boeing 777s, Boeing 747-400s and Boeing 737-800s) to its fleet.

Transaero has become the second largest carrier within Russia after substantially expanding its domestic network, according to figures released by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.

Within Russia, Transaero has performed robusty for the first half of the year – the airline was second-placed domestically, both in terms of passengers carried and revenue passenger kilometres (RPK).

The number of passengers on domestic routes increased by 56.4% and RPK rose 76.7% compared with the
equivalent period in 2008. The portion of the airline’s domestic routes to total routes increased from 13 to 22%.

Transaero Airlines took delivery of its third Tu-214.
The aircraft is part of a contract between Transaero and Financial Leasing Co. for 10 of the type signed in 2005.
While ithas delayed the delivery schedule for the aircraft, the carrier remains "strongly committed to this contract,"

CEO Olga Pleshakova said. "We never had any complaints about the reliability of these aircraft."

La cie privée russe Transaero poursuit sa croissance en septembre !


Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second largest airline, has announced operating results for September 2009 separetely.
Key indicators in the airline’s report show stable growth rates. September highlights include the following results:

Revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) grew to 1.998 billion – 12.2% more than in September 2008


Passenger number reached 595,000 – 4% more than in September 2008


Revenue ton-kilometers (RTK) grew to 3.42 thousand – 21.5% more than in September 2008


198 m tons of mail and cargo were delivered – 14% more than in September 2008.

From May 2009, Transaero has shown growth in traffic volumes and revenue in comparison with May, June, July, August and September results of the record year 2008, when the carrier experienced an average year over year growth rate of nearly 50% in all key operational indices over 2007.

Transaero maintains its position of the second largest Russian airline on international routes and at the same time is actively expanding its domestic route network by opening new routes, increasing flight frequencies and operating greater capacity aircraft. In 2009 Transaero launched eight new domestic routes from Moscow to Blagoveshchensk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Magadan, Omsk, Samara, Ufa and Krasnodar.
Passenger turnover on Transaero flights within Russia increased 80% and the number of passengers carried grew 74.16% in comparison with the same period in 2008.
Transaero is the largest Russian carrier on flights to the Far East and its passenger turnover on Far East destinations for the first nine months of 2009 increased 83.3% over the same period in 2008.

In October 2009 Transaero switched completely to the use of e-ticketing for all flights, becoming the first full service Russian airline to fully adopt the use of e-ticketing for all flights. The airline’s own sales offices and accredited travel agencies will no longer be offering traditional paper tickets to customers, although paper tickets sold prior to the change remain valid to the expiration dates on the tickets.

Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second largest passenger airline, responding to significant increase in its key
year–on–year operational indicators in the beginning of 2010, decided to expand both its domestic and international route network.

In the coming months Transaero plans to launch seven new flights to key destinations, including Beijing in China, Qostanay in Kazakhstan and Yakutsk in the Russian Far East.

The company will also launch new routes from St Petersburg to Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.

Transaero Airlines has received its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft, the 50th aircraft in the carrier’s fleet.

The jetliner has come equipped with 323 seats in three-class configurations - business, premium economy
and tourist
.

The new aircraft will be incorporated into operations on Transaero’s domestic and international routes.

Transaero's most recent aircraft asset is the first of four Boeing 777s that Transaero expects to receive from Singapore Airlines as part of a financial lease agreement signed in April of this year.

The acquisition is part of Transaero’s ongoing fleet development and modernization program that will see four more Boeing 777s added to the fleet in the coming months.

The carrier plans to acquire an additional 10 747-400 aircraft while phasing out its classic Boeing 747-200s.

The newly acquired Boeing jetliner will enter operations this Friday on Transaero's Moscow – Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk route.

The results of Transaero Airlines operational performance for January-May provides evidence to support the airline's ongoing sustainable development as well as revealing a significant increase in performance over the same period last year.

Results for January – May 2010:

Transaero’s passenger turnover totaled 9,107 million RPK, 58.7% more than in the first five months of 2009

The number of passengers carried for the period totaled 2,083,295 individuals, a 52.6% increase over the first five months of 2009

The total amount of cargo carried increased to 12,421.73 tons, 40.5% more than during the first five months of 2009

Freight ton kilometers amounted to 890 million tkm, a 57.2% increase over the first five months of 2009.

Both domestic and international operations experienced growth in January-May 2010.

Domestic passenger turnover grew 35% and international passenger turnover grew 57%. Transaero Airlines carried 89% of all passengers on its regularly scheduled flights.

Rachat de quatre Boeing 777-300ER prévu en 2011 à SIA !

Après les 777-200 repris d'occasion à JAL et cinq -200ER à SIA, déjà, Transaero continue ses emplettes sur le marché de seconde main.

La fiscalité particulière en Russie soutient les resale values des 777 et 747-400. Le besoin de passenger uplift capability est bien là pour Transaero

Transaero Airlines is planning to purchase four more Boeing 777s from Singapore Airlines in 2011 and is increasing its commitment from nine to 12 747-400s, a spokesperson confirmed to ATW.

The SIA 777-300ERs, which will become the first of the type to join UN's fleet, will accommodate up to 373 passengers in a four-class configuration.

They will be used on domestic and international routes.

In April, the Russian airline signed contracts for the acquisition of five 777-200ERs previously operated by SIA and nine ex-Japan Airlines 747-400s as part of its ongoing fleet development and modernization
program

All five 777-200s have been delivered and the first ex-JAL 747-400 arrived this week.

It is configured in two classes, with 12 seats in business and 509 in economy.

The aircraft will be operated on high-capacity routes to leisure destinations.

UN will add 11 747-400s configured with 521 seats in 2011 and 2012.

They will be integrated into its fleet on financial leasing contracts.

“As we are phasing out our [four] -200s and we notice increasing demand on leisure destinations, we see the need for more 747-400s [compared to April] in this configuration,” the spokesperson said. Its other 747-400s offer a three-class configuration—first, business and economy—with a much lower seat density of 352 seats.

Transaero’s fleet now comprises 59 aircraft, including 14 747s, eight 777s, 12 767s, 22 737s and three Tupolev 214s.

It is the only carrier in Russia and the CIS that operates 777 and 747 passenger aircraft.

The carrier is rapidly growing.

Traffic for the first three quarters of 2010 increased 40.2% year-over-year to 21.54 billion RPKs while the number of passengers carried rose 32.2% to 5.6 million.

It currently serves more than 100 routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America and added 18 new routes so far this winter schedule.

It will launch a weekly Moscow Domodedovo-Rio de Janeiro flights in January.
