and was later disestablished in 1970.
Reestablished as an A-6 squadron in 1972. Disestablished 1995.
NAS Whidbey Island, WA. Last Vietnam-era A-6 squadron to be established.

An U.S. Navy Grumman A-6E Intruder aircraft (BuNo 161230) from attack squadron VA-95 Green Lizards, assigned to Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65), escorting a Soviet Tupolev Tu-16 Badger aircraft in September 1982. The Enterprise was on a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 1 September 1982 to 28 April 1983.

Redesignated VFA-115 in 1996, flying [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien], introducing this model into combat during [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] in 2003. NAS Whidbey Island, WA, then forward-deployed at [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien], [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] from 1973 until redesignation.

The Pros were the Pacific Fleet's Fleet replacement Squadron (FRS) for the [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] and provided FRS services for the Pacific Fleet A-6 community for about one year until the establishment of VA-128 in 1967.

VA-155 — Silver Foxes. Callsign: "Vixen." Deployment callsign: "Jackal" The reason for difference was local NAS Whidbey Isalnd Air Traffic Control was afraid of confusion with VAQ-138 "Jacket" callsign.
This despite the similarities between "Vixen" and "Phoenix" (VA-128 Callsign). Established 1987. Disestablished 1993. NAS Whidbey Island, WA.
