Brazilian regional carrier TRIP Linhas Aereas is planning to place more orders later this year for Embraer 175s
and ATR 72s.

TRIP president Jose Mario Caprioli dos Santos says the fast-growing carrier is planning to exercise six of its E-175 options by year-end and ink a new deal with ATR covering eight to 12 ATR 72-600s.

In June TRIP took delivery of the first three E-175s from its 2008 order for five firm aircraft, plus 10 options and 15 purchase rights.

"We want to exercise two batches [of three options] before the end of the year," Caprioli told ATI at the Low Cost Airlines World Americas 2009 conference.

He adds that the first batch of three will be delivered in the second half of 2010, and that TRIP eventually plans to operate a fleet of at least 30 E-175s by the end of 2013 - with all the options and purchase rights being converted in batches of three over the next few years.

TRIP's business plan also envisions a fleet of 20-24 ATR 72-500/600s.
The Campinas-based carrier currently operates 22 ATR turboprops consisting of 12 ATR 42-300s, four ATR 72-200s and six ATR 72-500s.

As part of earlier order with ATR, says Caprioli, TRIP is already committed to taking six more ATR 72-500s. He says three of these are scheduled to be delivered in the second half of this year and the final three in the first half of next year.

Several of the new routes being launched, including some from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont Airport, connect major Brazilian cities. Caprioli says TRIP historically has not operated on domestic trunk routes but, with the E-175, it believes it can compete with larger carriers as Brazilian business travellers tend to prefer the Embraer jet family.

He says TRIP will also continue to use turboprops on some routes where it competes against other regional carriers but he believes TRIP will have an advantage because it will be operating more modern models than its competitors.

La compagnie régionale canadienne Porter Airlines leve deux options sur des Dash 8 Q400 NextGen

Based on the list price for the Q400 aircraft, the order announced today is valued at approximately $54 million US.

Porter Airlines began operations from Toronto City Centre Airport on October 23, 2006, serving Ottawa with 10 daily
flights. It has since added Montreal, Halifax, Quebec City, New York/Newark, Chicago/Midway and Thunder Bay to
its route network, as well as a seasonal service to Mont Tremblant, Quebec. Porter just announced a new service to Boston beginning Sept. 14, and additional frequencies to Montreal and Ottawa.

Surprenant surtout si onconsidere que le 787 était censé remplacer, aussi, dans son businness case le 767.

D'après la Tribune, ces 5xB787 se sibstitue à 5xB767. Le total général pour B dans cette oprération devrai être nul en arithmétique pure. Un 787 est plus cher qu'un 767, mais ces cinq avions peuvent très bien être une compensation pour ANA.

Jestar, la filiale de Qantas, QF, songe à l'A330. C'est plutôt logique vu les délais encore repoussés du Boeing 787, l'annulation de 15 B787-9 et le report de 15 B 787-8 de la part de QF, dont une part des 65 ( maintenant 50, donc ) étaient destinés à Jestar.

L'été indien de l'A330, avec la nouvelle motorisation RR Trent 700EP, et en vesion -200HGW, n'est pas terminé.

Qantas Airways' low-cost carrier Jetstar is looking to add more Airbus A330s now that Qantas group has cancelled some 787 orders and delayed others.

A Jetstar spokesman in Sydney says the carrier has six A330s and is receiving a seventh in December.

Besides Airbus A320s, it has no other aircraft coming until mid-2013 when Jetstar receives its first 787, which will also the first 787 for the Qantas group, says the spokesman.

"We are now looking at our future fleet plan in terms of additional A330s because we see some growth opportunities for Jetstar International," he says.

When asked of the airline will lease or buy A330s, he says Jetstar in recent times has leased A330s because this aircraft was originally suppose to be interim lift until the 787s come.

Jetstar was originally suppose to receive the first of 15 787-8s in August 2008 but delays to the Boeing programme pushed deliveries back to May 2010.

Then last month Qantas announced it was cancelling 15 787-9s on order and delaying delivery of 15 787-8s.

Jetstar's spokesman says Jetstar was originally planning to have 15 787-8s and then replace these with 787-9s but under the new schedule it is going straight to 787-9s.

He says the -9 is a more suitable for services into Asia and for the services to Europe.

The reason it went with -8s to begin with is because that is the first model in the 787 family that Boeing is producing, he adds.

Romanian budget carrier Blue Air has started talks with Boeing with a view to purchasing 10 additional 737-800/900 aircraft.

The carrier reached agreement last year to acquire five 737s - comprising two -800s and three -900ERs.

But the Bucharest-based airline says it has "opened negotiations" for a "new order" for 10 aircraft.

It says it wants to place the order and retain an agreement to take five options.

Blue Air general manager Adrian Ionascu says the discussions with Boeing are a "very important step" for the airline, adding that it will be able to accommodate more passengers with the higher-capacity jets.

It has not stated when it would begin taking delivery of the aircraft. Blue Air's fleet mainly comprises older 737 variants.

Blue Air operates primarily from the Romanian capital's secondary Baneasa Airport to a range of destinations in Europe.

SAA pourrait commander 15 Airbus famille 320 et quelques A 340

South African Airways (SAA) is close to finalising a new deal with Airbus that will recommit the carrier to 15 A320s originally ordered in 2002, and could include additional A320s plus potentially more A340s.

SAA in 2002 ordered 15 A320s for delivery from 2010 as well as 11 A319s and 15 A340s, which have already been delivered. In 2004 SAA said it was cancelling the A320 part of the order, but Airbus never acknowledged the cancellation and continued to keep the order in its books.

Sources believe the new deal will ensure the 17 737-800s operated by SAA and the four 737-800s operated by SAA low-cost subsidiary Mango will eventually be replaced by A320s. They say the deal will likely include about 20 A320s and potentially six A340s.

Copa commande 13 Boeing 737-800.

Copa Holdings SA's (CPA) Copa Airlines unit ordered 13 more of Boeing Co.'s next-generation 737-800 airplanes for about $1 billion, nearly doubling its original order.

The Panama-based airline said Thursday it now has 27 of the planes on firm order from Boeing.
There are also options for an additional eight.

Although many U.S. airlines have been cutting back capacity to align with a decline in demand, Copa and some other international airlines have fared better because of fewer flights and less competition to begin with.

The planes, to be outfitted with modern, 787-style interiors, are expected to reduce fuel consumption through a combination of airframe and engine improvements.

Boeing, which has seen its credibility damaged by several delays in its 787 Dreamliner, said earlier this month the bulk of its second-quarter deliveries were the 737 planes. It has maintained production plans for the model despite cuts in other models.

Copa Airlines Chief Executive Pedro Heilbron said the 737s have been "a major factor" in Copa's success, providing it with operating and cost savings.

The deliveries of the 13 planes are scheduled to start in 2012.

The carrier has detailed the order in a statement, adding that chief executive Girma Wake has signed a
"definitive agreement" to purchase the 777s and a memorandum of understanding for the A350s.

Ethiopian says deliveries of the A350s will begin in 2017, and those for the 777s in October 2010.

All A350s are currently only available with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, while 777-200LRs are exclusively
powered by General Electric GE90s.

Je pense que les 777s sont une compensation à bas prix de Boeing pour ne pas perdre les 787s et empêcher de voir poindre des 330s en lieu et place.. De toutes façons les 350 sont livrables plus tard (en 2017).

Turkmenistan commande 3 Boeing 737 NG, par décret !

Ces appareils étaient initialement destinés à la compagnie koweitienne Load Air Cargo qui n’a jamais démarré ses activités.

Les appareils seraient cependant opérés en leasing avant la fin de l’année.

Thai Airways vise une desserte tout cargo vers l’Europe via New Delhi, vers les USA via Shanghai et vers Jakarta et l’Australie.

Thai Airways n’a plus opéré directement d’appareils exclusivement dédiés au transport de fret depuis une quinzaine d’années.

But he says talks have ended and Citilink has since applied to Indonesia's Directorate General of Civil Aviation for an AOC.
