Un avion perd un bout de...?
Tombé sur un parking de Miami. Scaring :
----------------------------------------------------
A 16-feet long chunk of a cargo plane broke off and crashed into a parking lot in the Miami International
Airport today but miraculously nobody was hurt.
The portion of the plane broke off as it began its descent into the airport, landing in the Doral mall parking lot, without hitting “anyone” or “anything”, authorities said.
The plane landed safely after the incident as the piece of the plane fell over a tree,” the Miami Herald reported.
“We got lucky today. If this had been on a weekend, this would have been a real problem,” said Police Chief Ricardo Gomez.
Jorge Tadeo, who was sitting in a car in the parking lot when the aircraft piece landed, said:
“There was a loud thunder and it looked like something that blew off a truck or something“.
“You look at the piece and its shaped like a wing... No one thinks of a plane falling,” he said.
The Atlas Air Cargo 747 had left Santiago in Chile, and was on its final approach to the runway when the piece fell into the parking lot, said a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the incident.

The private company’s airliner coming from Abu Dhabi was about to land at the Peshawar airport when it skidded off the runway and escaped disaster near the main University Road near Tehkal.
Police and security officials sealed the airport and media was not allowed to cover the incident.
The airport authorities said the plane slipped due to bad weather after landing at the airport at about 8:46 am.
Official sources, however, confirmed to DawnNews that the accident occurred because of brake failure and stopped just 100 meters away from the main University Road.
Sources said the accident could have been disastrous if the plane would have hit the busy road and residential areas, which were just 50 meters away from the site.
Shaheen Airlines' officials said that the passengers on board have safely been evacuated and the officials are assessing the causes of the incident.

A twin turbo-prop small aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a rice paddy in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, following engine failure, injuring at least two passengers in the process.
The aircraft, an ATR-42-300 operated by PT Trigana Air, was carrying 46 passengers and five crew from Tanjung
Selor City to Samarinda when the engine failed.
Roesmanto, head of flight security and safety at Termindung Airport in Samarinda, told Antara state news agency that the pilot had planned to make an emergency landing at Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan, which is bigger than Termindung Airport.
However, the plane was unable to reach the airport and was forced to land in the rice field located near the 45 kilometer marker on the Balikpapan to Samarinda highway at around 11:30 a.m. local time.

The beleaguered Tanzanian national airline suffered another setback yesterday, when one of its remaining aircraft, an aged B737-200 crashed while attempting to take off from the lakeside town of Mwanza.
It was confirmed by sources at Mwanza Airport that while on the take off run some of the aircraft's tires burst, sending the plane into a skid from which the crew was unable to recover, before it eventually slid off the runway to a halt.
The plane suffered extensive damage to the undercarriage, when the nose gear collapsed under the strain. The hull and at least one of the engines were also damaged, but all passengers and crew escaped without serious injuries.
The airport was closed for a period of time, to permit debris to be cleared from the runway.
It was eventually re-opened for traffic again.
The weather at the time of the accident was reported to be fine and was not a factor in the accident.
It could not be established if the condition of the tires has caused the accident.
There is now growing speculation though, that the financial state of the airline may finally had come home, undermining its ability to properly maintain the fleet, and change tyres earlier, rather than waiting until absolute minimum useable condition has been reached.
ATC was subject to a regulatory withdrawal of its air operators' certificate some time ago, over unresolved issues with 'documentation' related to maintenance, and has not been able to recover from the loss of business and customer confidence ever since.
The Tanzanian government has been trying to find a strategic investor for years now but this too has failed.
The latest accident will definately do more damage to the government's attempts to 'offload' its national airline to a foreign carrier, considering pending labour disputes in addition to the technical questions now on the table again.
It could not be ascertained at this time if the Tanzanian CAA is again slapping a ban on the airline by suspending their AOC, which would likely be the final curtain call for Air Tanzania.

NEWARK, New Jersey-
An engine cover has fallen off a Jet Blue airplane forcing an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport early Monday and shutting one runway down.
Live chopper video from local TV showed emergency trucks surrounding the Jet Blue plane.
Later, workers inspected a left jet engine with unusual looking damage.
Runway 22 at Newark Airport was shut down after some debris littered the runway, apparently from the fallen cover.
There was no information as to how the engine cover the aircraft had come off.
Post updates as information comes in.
